From Thai food to “I do” — a Burnham Grove Estate wedding to remember

Bec and Diego’s Burnham Grove Estate wedding was all about keeping things easy, heartfelt, and true to them. The pair first met on Tinder, bonding over Thai food and long chats in the car after their first date. A few years later, Diego popped the question at Bec’s parents’ house, complete with flowers, candles, and one very surprised bride-to-be.

When it came to choosing a venue, Burnham Grove Estate ticked every box. They wanted somewhere local that could host both their ceremony and reception, and as soon as they stepped onto the property, they knew it was the one. The beautiful gardens, relaxed atmosphere, and all-in-one setup made it a perfect fit.

Their approach to wedding planning was simple: don’t make things harder than they need to be. That laid-back energy carried through the entire day, creating a celebration that was fun, meaningful, and totally focused on what mattered most.

 

Tell me about your The Beginning!

We met on Tinder. Our first date was at a thai restaurant in Campbelltown and we spent hours talking in the car when Diego dropped me home. Our second date he dropped the bombshell that his name isn’t actually Diego (lol).

 

When and where did you get engaged?

31/7/24 – at my (Bec’s) parent’s house. I was meeting him at their place after being at work late for parent teacher meetings, I arrived and his car was nowhere to be seen – I was not happy! I messaged him asking where he was, no response, and then I walked in to flowers, candles, an engagement ring balloon and Diego on one knee.

 

Why did you choose to have a Burnham Grove Estate Wedding?

We wanted somewhere close that would do the ceremony and reception, we went to Burnham Grove on the Saturday after getting engaged on the Wednesday, and we just loved it straight away.

 

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Finally sharing a surname lol.
