Hannah & Kieran’s Joyful Athol Hall Mosman Wedding by the Harbour

Hannah & Kieran’s Athol Hall Mosman wedding was the perfect mix of heartfelt moments and big celebrations, set against one of Sydney’s most iconic harbour views. After searching up and down the coast for the right venue, they eventually realised the perfect spot was right on their doorstep. Since guests were flying in from the UK and the Cayman Islands, Athol Hall offered the ideal setting to show off the city they love.

These two first met over a few glasses of rosé at The Dolphin in Surry Hills. They got engaged at sunrise at Wylie’s Baths, followed by an ocean swim to celebrate. So, it’s no surprise that their wedding day was full of energy and joy from start to finish.

After the ceremony, they travelled to Athol Hall on a red double-decker bus. I was lucky enough to hop on with them, champagne flowing as they soaked up the moment. Rather than carving out one long portrait session, Hannah & Kieran opted for shorter photo breaks throughout the day. This meant they could actually enjoy cocktail hour with their guests, which was important to them.

Meanwhile, I captured joyful candids of their loved ones relaxing in the afternoon sun—something we didn’t expect to see after a rainy morning. But, as luck would have it, the clouds cleared and the light hit just right. The whole day felt fun, unforced, and full of genuine connection.

 

Tell me about your The Beginning!

“We met on a Friday evening in January 2022 at The Dolphin Hotel in Surry Hills. Over a few glasses of rose, we bonded over a love for travel and sport. The romance built over the remainder of summer through beach swims, live sport & meeting each others friends and family. Ironically we now live a couple of hundred metres away from where we first met!”

When and where did you get engaged?

“On the winter solstice in 2024, Kieran whipped us out of bed at 5am on a Friday morning to a lot of questions and curiosity from Hannah. Down at Wylies Baths in Coogee, Kieran went down on one knee at sunrise & we jumped in the ocean pool in celebration and ecstasy!”

Why did you choose a Athol Hall Mosman wedding reception?

“After searching up and down the coast from Sydney, we realised that the perfect venue for us was right on our doorstep. With guests coming from as far afield as the UK and the Cayman Islands, we wanted to show off our beautiful city.”

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

“aving all our people together for us on our special day and getting to publicly celebrate our love for each other. We are so excited for the whole weekend & we are particularly looking forward to letting loose on the dance floor.”
