Tell me about your The Beginning!
We met on a Film Set in Katoomba, Blue Mountains. We were both on set for 2 weeks, Carl’s 2nd week was my 1st week. Didn’t talk on set, smiled at each other once. Even though one day when I was running back to the makeup room, Carl was having a break in the break room with the boys and said “there goes my future wife”. 8 years later here we are!
After he finished his contract on the film, i messaged him (for-well knowing he had left) if he was coming back, and then it all started, chatting everyday, one month later, after a family trip with my parents, Carl and I had our first date in Bondi. We saw a movie, had Max Brenner then headed to the Coogee Pav for lunch. I was so nervous that i ate a meat supreme pizza and went ridiculously quite (Vego gal). As I was so nervous going on a date with a really cute guy!
2nd date was a picnic at Wenty Falls lake, where Carl pretended to clean my face (there was nothing on my face) so he could touch my face.
3rd date we were in the city and went back to his to watching Finding Dory. I met his dad that night and had dinner. I didn’t know how I would get home from Riverwood so Carl offered to drive me home, to Woodford in the Blue Mountains!!! He then met both my parents and we all talked till 1am. Safe to say the first 3 dates went very well and now he is stuck with me forever!
When and where did you get engaged?
We were away in Port Stephens for our 5 year anniversary! Port Stephens is my second home. Carl surprised me by staying at the Koala Sanctuary (we LOVE koalas) and we were having afternoon snacks and drinks (picnic) on the deck and he knelt on one knee and popped the big Q! Very relaxed, very us! I danced up and down like crazy after then went into shock
Why did you choose to have a Suzarosa wedding?
We were looking around trying to find something in the Blue Mountains to celebrate our growth and time in this beautiful part of the world. Alot of memories, where we met, we’ve grown and now to get married.
I then came across Suzarosa after hours web searching and it seemed perfect. Very wholesome and surrounded by a lot of nature – which is what we wanted!
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Gabby – Seeing Carl’s face when I am coming down the isle. Celebrating us and everything we have been through on our 8 year anniversary with our favourite people.
Carl – Seeing Gabby in her wedding dress and having all of our people there – we never do anything for just us so this will be really special
