Tell me about your The Beginning!

“We met in August 2018 when Caity moved from Melbourne to Sydney. Jacob, enjoying a great year, was looking for someone special. Enter Tinder, where Jacob used his daily super-like on Caity. After nonstop chatting, we met at Cronulla Beach, instantly connecting through laughter, shared humor, and inappropriate memes – a dynamic that still defines our relationship. A week later, a night out at Goros confirmed we couldn’t stay apart. Within weeks, Caity became part of Jacob’s family, and we spent all our free time exploring Sydney and going on dates. On one date, Jacob hinted he was ready for a girlfriend, and Caity quickly asked if he meant her – he did! We’ve been inseparable ever since, celebrating two anniversaries every year because we couldn’t agree on just one.”

When and where did you get engaged?

“We got engaged in Dec 2023 on a last minute trip to Melbourne. After Caity accidentally thwarted Jacob’s original grand plans to propose by cancelling the trip then changing her mind at the last minute, Jacob improvised, organising a dinner with Caity’s closest friends & family. We went for a walk afterwards along South Yarra to look at the Christmas light show on the water, everyone started acting super suss and Caity knew something was up. He got down on one knee and froze up from nerves! Eventually the words came out and Caity said YES.”

How did you come to choose your venue?

“We wanted somewhere relaxed with beautiful nature vibes that would just feel like a big party! The Woodlands ticked all the boxes and as a bonus, reminded us of a house from one of our favourite comedies… The Cullen house from Twilight.”

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

“Jacob: Getting to see how beautiful Caity is. Caity: Jacob’s tears when I’m walking down the aisle :)”

“Create a mega spreadsheet, join some Facebook groups for advice, have fun with it and find some amazing vendors that will make your day special (like Hayley!!!)”
