Intimate Wedding at The Pill Factory, Bundanoon – A Sparkly Celebration for Kylie & David

Kylie & David Scorpecci’s wedding at The Pill Factory in Bundanoon was anything but ordinary—and that’s exactly what made it so special. Set in a restored 1800s pill factory, this historic spot was the perfect backdrop for their non-traditional celebration, and even better—it doubled as a stay for many of their interstate guests.

The two first crossed paths through work in 2021, finally meeting properly when Kylie needed a hand with a webinar at David’s TV studio. Sparks flew, dinner followed, and the rest, as they say, is history.

True to her nickname “Shimmergirl,” Kylie brought all the sparkle, rocking an old Hollywood-inspired fit-and-flare gown that was pure gold—literally and figuratively. When asked about the theme, Kylie said, “We haven’t really picked one, but I told Dave once that when we’re alone, I picture us in this column of golden light. So if that light could be a dress, this would be it.”

From the venue to the wardrobe to the energy in the room, everything about this day felt personal, meaningful, and completely them.

Tell Me About Your The Beginning!

“We should have met so many times – even went to the same uni and did similar courses (Dave did TV production and I did journalism). I still can’t believe we didn’t meet. We worked in many of the same places, but we finally met in 2021.

It was post the first COVID lockdown. I’d been in a job I adored at the National Archives and I did NOT want to leave but I had to and I found myself working at a government department. After a few weeks questioning my life choices, someone said we had to host a webinar and people were freaking. Finally, someone said ‘oh there’s actually a TV studio downstairs, talk to the guy who runs it…Dave Scorpecci’. So I rang Dave and said ‘Oh, it’s Kylie from the DTA here, I hear you have a TV studio’. I could hear him breathe out and he said ‘yes, would you like to see it?’ Would I ever! We arranged to meet.

I remember everything so visually. He walked out of the lift and we started talking and it’s like we’ve never stopped. He took me into his studio and I was just so, so impressed. I even have a video of that first studio tour which I took for my colleagues.

The project we worked on was a huge palaver and I offered him his bribe of choice. Apparently that was Barossa Shiraz. So I bought the wine. And then he asked me out for dinner to accompany the wine. And that’s when I knew it was on!”

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day?

“We haven’t officially chosen a style or theme but once, I told Dave that whenever we’re alone I imagine us being drawn to this column of golden light. And every time, we just pick up where we left off. So my dress is perfect because if ‘goldie light’ could be a dress, this would be it!”

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

“ I think seeing Dave’s beautiful eyes. Seeing my son all dressed up. Seeing my brother happy.”

Testimonial

“Hayley is an extraordinary photographer and a gorgeous human. I don’t just say that because she has the power to make any couple look brilliant! Hayley effortlessly captured our glitter-filled whirlwind of a wedding. It was magical how she could make herself invisible so you don’t even know she’s there and yet be such a key part of the wedding. I am so glad we trusted our wedding photos with Hayley and can’t recommend her highly enough.” – Kylie & David
